Clearly Colorado: American Heart Association
American Heart Association

American Heart Association
Our Mission
Founded in 1924, we're the nation's oldest and largest voluntary health organization dedicated to building healthier lives, free of heart disease and stroke. To help prevent, treat and defeat these diseases - America's No. 1 and No. 3 killers - we fund cutting-edge research, conduct lifesaving public and professional educational programs, and advocate to protect public health. To learn more or join us in helping all Americans, call 1-800-AHA-USA1 or visit americanheart.org.
2020 Impact Goal
To improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent while reducing deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20 percent.

To find out how healthy you are, the American Heart Association developed a new health assessment tool, called My Life Check, at heart.org/mylifecheck. It will give you an overall health score and create an action plan to move you closer to your individual health goals. No matter what you score, any healthy change can help you live a longer, better life.

February is American Heart Month!
Here is what's happening in our community!

National Wear Red Day
Friday, February 5, 2010, is National Wear Red Day and millions of people will choose to wear red and speak up against heart disease. It gives women and men everywhere a way to show their dedication and support of the cause, and empowers them to take action for their health.
Hold a Wear Red Day event at your office or within your organization on National Wear Red Day, or any other day. Its fun, it's meaningful and it's a great way to boost morale and build team spirit. It's also a great way to show your concern for co-workers, family members and friends, and empower them to take action and speak up against heart disease. Sign up for free downloadable tools at GoRedForWomen.org/WearRedDay.

Girls Only Goes Red!
February 18, 2010
Denver Performing Arts Complex, Galleria Theatre
7:30pm
Girls Only is an original comedy that celebrates the honor, truth, humor and silliness of being female. With a town-women cast and audiences full of raucous, laughing ladies, the show is a unique examination of all things girly. Born out of the earnest and sweetly ridiculous writings the two authors discovered in their girlhood diaries, the Girls Only mix of sketch comedy, improvisation, audience participation, and hilarious songs and videos will remind you that underneath, women all have very funny and very charming feminine similarities.
Tickets are just $25! So grab all the women in your life, enjoy a girlie night on the town, and help a great cause at the same time! Call 303-996-8737 to purchase tickets today! $5 from the sale of each ticket benefits the American Heart Association and the Go Red For Women Campaign.
