Rosa Parks

Black History month facts with A RICH #2
On December 1, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, Rosa Parks, an African-American seamstress, left work and boarded a bus for home. As the bus became crowded, the bus driver ordered Parks to give up her seat to a white passenger. Montgomery’s buses were segregated, with the seats in the front reserved for “whites only.” Blacks had to sit at the back of the bus. But if the bus was crowded and all the “whites only” seats were filled, black people were expected to give up their seats—a black person sitting while a white person stood would never be tolerated in the racist South. Rosa had had enough of such humiliation, and refused to give up her seat. “I felt I had a right to stay where I was,” she said. “I wanted this particular driver to know that we were being treated unfairly as individuals and as a people.” The bus driver had her arrested.
John Legend re-made “Ordinary People” It’s now, “Extra Ordinary Tebow.”
February 2nd, 2012 by Krystal
JOHN LEGEND performed a new version of “Ordinary People” on ESPN2′s “First Take”. It pokes fun at TIM TEBOW . . . and ESPN’s obsession with him, particularly hosts SKIP BAYLESS and Stephen A. Smith. It’s OK, but it has a brilliant title: It’s “Extra-Ordinary Tebow”.

Black History month facts with A RICH #1
1963 was noted for racial unrest and civil rights demonstrations. Nationwide outrage was sparked by media coverage of police actions in Birmingham, Alabama, where attack dogs and fire hoses were turned against protestors, many of whom were in their early teens or younger. Martin Luther King, Jr., was arrested and jailed during these protests, writing his famous “Letter From Birmingham City Jail,” which advocates civil disobedience against unjust laws. Dozens of additional demonstrations took place across the country, from California to New York, culminating in the March on Washington. President Kennedybacked a Civil Rights Act, which was stalled in Congress by the summer.

Drake Really Wants To Play Barack Obama In A Movie
January 27th, 2012 by A Rich
Before he was known strictly by his middle name, Aubrey Drake Graham was known to millions of North American teenagers as Jimmy Brooks, the wheelchair-bound former basketball player who occasionally rapped awkwardly on Canadian television series “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” from 2001 to 2009. And while he recently admitted to Rolling Stone that he’s typically offered roles playing rappers or athletes, he’s hoping and preparing for a chance at his dream role: President Barack Obama.
The Average American Worker Spends Over $1,000 a Year on Coffee?
January 24th, 2012 by A Rich
Maybe it’s time to wean yourself off Starbucks and develop a taste for the motor oil-flavored coffee they brew at your office.
According to a new survey by a company called Accounting Principals, the average American worker spends $1,092 every single year on coffee. That’s more than $20 a week. The average worker spends $1,476 on their commute . . . meaning your coffee budget is only slightly lower than your gas budget. But neither one comes close to what you’re spending on lunch every day. The average worker spends an extra $37 a week to eat outside the office, which comes to $1,850 a year. (–Based on working 50 weeks.) If this seems like a surprise to you, you’re not alone. About four times as many people assumed their commute would cost more than their lunches.
The Best Time of Day to Have Sex is . . . 7:30 A.M.
January 13th, 2012 by A Rich
According to a new study, the RIGHT time to get-it-on is . . . just after your alarm clock goes off.
The study found that 7:30 A.M. is the BEST time to have relations. As you’re waking up, your body produces a surge in sex hormones and adrenaline. That heightens your senses and makes everything feel even better. After you’re done with that morning sex, here are a few other things you should try to do at specific morning times . .
–8:10 A.M. Eat breakfast. Your appetite is strongest one hour after waking up, and your breakfast will fuel you . . . not turn straight to FAT.
–9:00 A.M. Do your hardest task. You’re at your most alert one hour after breakfast and two hours after waking up.
–10:30 A.M. Have a snack. This is when your energy first starts to dip, so a snack will help you out . . . and it will keep you from gorging at lunch.
Has Jay-Z Given Up the B-Word Because of His Daughter?
January 13th, 2012 by A Rich
From now on, when JAY-Z talks about his 99 problems, he’s going to have to get a little creative. Because, thanks to the birth of his daughter Blue Ivy, he can no longer use the B-Word. Jay released a rhyme yesterday which announced that he’s given it up. He said . . . Before I got in the game, made a change, and got rich,
I didn’t think hard about using the word B—-.
I rapped, I flipped it, I sold it, I lived it
now with my daughter in this world
I curse those that give it.
I never realized while on the fast track
that I’d give riddance to the word bitch, to leave her innocence in tact.
No man will degrade her, or call her out her name
the women won’t despise her and call her the same.
I know it’s gonna miss me
cuz we been together like Nike Airs and crisp tees
when we all used to hang out front
singing 99 problems but a lady ain’t one.
Excuse me miss, can I be your mister
cuz I can tell the difference from a little girl and a sister,
She never grew up, her father left her alone
I promise not to talk like we used to
until Kingdom Come.
I’m so focused on your future,
The degradation has passed
I wish you wealth, health, and insight
forever young you may pass.
Blue Ivy Carter, my angel.
Mwah hahahaha… my plan is working!

Since it launched last month, the “Boycott Kim” campaign has gained quite a bit of steam: As of this posting, 280,702 people have signed the online petition against the Kardashians. The family has “made a mockery of American culture,” the petition states, and urges sponsors to ditch Kim & Ko. Signers pledge to avoid stores that sell Kardashian merch (which includes Target, Walmart, Macy’s…) and not to watch “any television show, movie, or sex tape” starring Kim. One of the founders of BoycottKim.com tells the New York Daily News that Sears, which carries the Kardashian Kollection, is closely monitoring the petition, and that if signatures hit 500,000, a company like Sears might re-think its relationship with the family. (Another reason to boycott Kardashian merchandise? A human rights group tells Star that some of the products are made using child labor.) The Courage Campaign is also going after Kim, insisting that she should pay more in taxes. Watch the appeal at left, or click for a video of Kathy Griffin’s latest Kardashian slams, in which she refers to Kris Humphries as Kim’s “special-needs boyfriend.”
