Name: Kesha Rose Sebert
Born: March 1, 1987
Home Town: LA
Born in the bathroom at a party in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley, Kesha was destined to be a party girl. Her mother was a struggling artist trying to support her family, when she got a publishing gig and moved Kesha and her brothers to her home town of Nashville. Kesha, only 4 at the time was able to follow her mom into the studio all the time. Going to the studio was normal to Kesha she thought everyone grew up in studios. She went to a special music school, and took songwriting classes. She loved songwriting, and was fascinated how songs tell stories. Once in a while Kesha's mom would let her sing a few songs in the studio, and would tell Kesha she had a beautiful voice and to keep practicing her singing.
In 2005 Kesha's family was featured on an episode of the hit T.V. show The Simple Life with Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. It was the Internship Season of the show. Paris and Nicole stayed with Kesha's family, and got Kesha's mom a date for a wedding.
When Kesha was 17 she quit school to pursue her music carrier and moved back to L.A. She really went for her dream, at school she was enrolled in an International Baccalaureate program, and from there she was going to go to Columbia University to study psychology. She also had nearly perfect SAT scores. In L.A. Kesha worked as a waitress and a telemarketer to make enough money to support her self. She had been working hard on her demo tape, and decided she wanted Prince to produce her first album. Set on her way's she got Prince's address, and paid the gardener $5 to let her wiggle her way under the front gate at the end of the driveway. She walked up the driveway and got into the house through a side door that was unlocked. From there she got in the mirrored elevator and wet to the 3rd floor where the studio was. Prince was there chilling with some friends and recording. Kesha took a seat in a purple throne until Prince noticed her and kicked her out, but before he kicked her out she gave him her demo wrapped in a big purple bow.

After breaking into Prince's house, and not hearing from him Kesha kept her head up high and continued to work on her career. Eventually she met a guy who was working with Flo Rida on a track for his second album. Flo Rida was looking for a female vocalist on his song and asked Kesha if she would like to collaborate. Without hesitating she did it, and lucky for her the song "Right Round" was a smash! The song was a #1 hit, and it sold more than 636,000 digital downloads its first week (breaking the digital download record). Can you believe way back in 2006, Kesha had no money and was stealing canned veggies from dollar stores?
Soon after "Right Round" Kesha signed with RCA and kept helping out on other artist's projects. She helped write some songs for Miley Cyrus, and The Veronicas. She popped in on some songs on Pitbull, 3OH!3, and Taio Cruz's albums, and sang back up vocals on Britney's "Lace and Leather". She also appeared in Katy Perry's video for "I Kissed A Girl".
In August, 2009 she dropped her first single "Tik Tok". The song became a ground breaking single selling more downloads in one week than any other female artist in history! The song hit #1 in five different countries, and stayed there for eight weeks straight. On January 5, 2010 Kesha dropped her debut album Animal, and just like her smash hit single "Tik Tok" the album debuted at #1. Her second single "Blah Blah Blah" featuring 3OH!3 is still climbing the charts, but has hit #7 on charts already. Kesha worked on Animal for over 7 years, and had accumulated more than 200 songs for the album, and eventually picked her favorite fourteen for the album. Since Kesha loves stories in songs, all of the songs on the album are real experiences she has had, and they all tell great stories.
