The Black Eyed Peas have been around since 1995, and released their first album Behind the Front in 1998. All though that album had no hits the Black Eyed Peas tried again and released their second album in 2000 called Bridging the Gap, which featured the single "Request Line". The album and sold 1.2 million copies worldwide.

2003 was the year that got things rolling for the Black Eyed Peas. Kim Hill (a background singer) left the group, which allowed the Peas to bring in a new female singer. They decided on a girl named Stacy Ferguson who was previously in a small all girl pop group (Wild Orchid). The Black Eyed Peas went back in to the studio and recorded their 3rd album. In 2003 they released their album Elephunk. The album put the Peas on the map, with 4 hit singles that all went gold. Their first single "Where Is the Love" featured Justin Timberlake, and was their first hit single landing at #8 on the Hot 100 charts. The other hit songs from the album were "Shut Up", "Hey Mama", and "Lets Get It Started". The hit song "Hey Mama" gained extra exposure when it was highlighted on Apple's second iPod silhouette Television commercial. The song "Lets Get Retarded" was remade into "Lets Get It Started" for a worldwide NBA Finals commercial. Than the song was used on the soundtrack for the movie Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. With all the success of "Lets Get It Started" the song got the Peas a Grammy in 2005 for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.

In 2005 The Black Eyed Peas released their 4th album Monkey Business, which debuted at #2 on Billboard 200 album chart. It sold more than 295,000 copies in its first week alone. The first single from the album was "Don't Phunk with My Heart", which reached #3 on the on the Hot 100 charts, and earned them another Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. Other hits form Monkey Business include: "Don't Lie", "My Humps", and "Pump It". The song "My Humps" was featured on a commercial, and also reached #3 on the Hot 100 charts. All of this Monkey Business brings us to what the Black Eyed Peas are doing now in 2009.

After no word from the Black Eyed Peas for nearly 4 years they are about to release their 5th studio album The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies). Currently the album already has a smash hit "Boom Boom Pow", which has already hit #1 on Billboard's Hot 100. This is the first time the Peas have had a song hit #1 on the Billboard Charts. The Black Eyed Peas are scheduled to open for U2 on the last part of their 2009 tour stopping in Oklahoma, Arizona, Nevada, California, and British Columbia. They will also be performing July 8th 2009 at Malta at the Isle of MTV. Look out for the next single form The E.N.D to hit soon "I Got a Feeling".
